Position Description

The College of Liberal and Professional Studies (LPS) and the Department of Chemistry at the University of Pennsylvania are seeking qualified applicants for one full-time lecturer position to begin July 1, 2017. The responsibilities of the position are divided between teaching duties (80%) and advising/administration (20%) for undergraduate programs in LPS. Teaching experience in Organic Chemistry is preferred. The administrative duties for this position include, but are not restricted to, responding to inquiries from prospective students and assisting with program-related activities. The 12-month position is eligible for annual reappointment for up to an additional two years, based on an annual performance review and approval of the Dean.

Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, commitment to undergraduate and continuing education, and previous teaching experience are required; experience and/or interest in online teaching and previous administrative experience are preferred.
