Position Description

Job Summary
The Training and Technical Assistance Director will oversee all aspects related to the Actionable Intelligence for Social Policy Learning Communities (AISP-LC) initiative. This includes providing training, technical assistance, and support to the developing IDS sites participating in the AISP-LC initiative, working with IDS content area experts to facilitate the delivery of technical assistance during on-site training sessions, and collaborating closely with AISP staff and faculty co-directors on all aspects of the program.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Works collaboratively with the AISP team and all other individuals providing technical assistance and training to developing IDS sites.
• Prepares, designs and implements a multi-phase plan for delivery of research-driven training and technical assistance for developing IDS sites.
• Incorporates input from the AISP faculty directors on all aspects of the design and execution of the AISP-LC process.
• Works with AISP faculty directors to identify the appropriate IDS experts for each on-site training session.
• Collaborates with each topic expert to ensure that their on-site sessions are geared to address the specific issues raised by learning community members.
• Utilizes course feedback to modify AISP-LC as necessary to ensure successful outcomes for participants and future cohorts.
• Represents the AISP training and technical assistance initiative at local, state, and national conferences.
• Actively participates in state, local, and national meetings and conferences related to the development and use of IDS for policy analysis and program evaluation.
• Work with partner organizations to expand the AISP-LC initiative.
• Train representatives from partner organizations to organize and facilitate the AISP-LC curriculum with additional cohorts.

Qualifications & Skills
• PhD in Curriculum Development, Education, or similar field
• 5-10 years of professional experience in the development and use of integrated data systems for policy analysis and program evaluation
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• High level of organization, accuracy, and attention to detail

About the AISP-LC Initiative
The first AISP Learning Community cohort is slated to begin in Summer 2017. It will be composed of five to seven developing IDS sites that applied, and were chosen to participate. All selected sites will have a basic appreciation of the value that an IDS brings to government operations, and are ready to develop and refine partnerships within their jurisdiction to best meet the priorities of the specific government agencies their IDS will serve. The AISP-LC initiative provides participating sites with the opportunity to directly work with a cohort of other developing IDS sites in a hands-on environment.

About AISP
The principal aim of AISP is to improve the quality of education, health, and human service agencies’ policies and practices through the use of integrated data systems. Quality integrated data systems are designed to help executive leaders in municipal, county, and state government evaluate and establish effective programs for the people they serve. In 2009, AISP established a professional network to address the lack of national standards for integrated data systems. The AISP Network is composed of IDS sites that are leaders in the field of integrated data systems. Network members are sites with mature, functioning integrated data systems capable of producing actionable intelligence to guide policy and practice decision-making. In collaboration with the Network, AISP’s core staff focuses on furthering the development, use, and innovation of integrated data systems to improve policy analysis and program evaluation processes.
